IDV & KYC Checks

All directors, company secretaries, LLP members, and persons with significant control are now required to obtain a verified personal identification code in order to register with Companies House.

Simple and secure process

Whether you are a sole director or verifying multiple individuals across a group structure, our ID verification service is designed to be straightforward and secure. We use advanced identity document validation technology to make the process as efficient as possible.

How it works

We have partnered with TrustID and use their biometric software to complete the verification process. You will be asked to download their app, which is required to read the biometric chip in your passport. Once completed, the app can be deleted. You will receive an email fromcloud@trustid.co.ukwith a link (or QR code) to begin the process.

The verification process

  • Step 1 – Identity check
    You will be asked to complete the verification on a mobile phone or tablet. This includes scanning your passport or driving licence, taking a live photo, and (if required) uploading proof of address.
  • Step 2 – Review
    We review the results of the verification. If there are any queries or issues, we will contact you directly.
  • Step 3 – Submission
    We submit your details to Companies House using our authorised agent account, including confirmation of the documents used and your email address.

Once submitted, your personal verification code will be sent directly to your email address. For security reasons, this code is not shared with us, and each email address can only be used once.

Important information

  • We do not submit your identity documents to Companies House—only a record of the documents used
  • We are required to retain verification records for seven years

Proof of address (non-UK residents only)

If you are not UK resident, you will also need to provide one of the following (dated within the last 3 months):

  • Bank or credit card statement
  • Utility bill
  • Mortgage statement
  • Government-issued document confirming your address
  • Insurance policy document

Fees

  • UK residents: £50 + VAT per individual
  • Non-UK residents: £75 + VAT per individual
